Contact Info, Our Team, and Our Policies

Cabrillo Extension offers a variety of workshops and classes to the community for personal and professional growth and enrichment. We also support campus facilities use and rentals and offer contract training and education to employers and organizations.

The Extension Team is Here to Help!

Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 4:30 pm
Our staff is available for any questions, or if you need help getting registered! We are also available for appointments during this time, so please call or email to make an appointment before coming to our office, to be sure the person you want to speak with is available.

Extension Policies

Unless noted otherwise Extension classes are only for students 18 years or older. Some exceptions apply, so if you wish to register someone under 18, please reach out to the Extension team first for more information.

Late registrants may find a class full, and delayed registration may result in a cancelled class. Late arrivals or missed classes, please email us at extension@cabrillo.edu.

Please note that classes with low enrollment may be subject to cancellation.

INCLEMENT WEATHER

In the event of heavy rain or unsafe weather conditions for classes that occur off campus, Extension will reach out to you by phone and/or by email no less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time to let you know class has been cancelled. Be sure to check your voicemail and email prior to leaving for your offsite location, to be sure you haven't missed any communication from Extension!

DISCOUNTS & REGISTRATION

All classes have regular fees listed. Some have "Bring a Friend" discounts. Discounts do not apply to all classes, and multiple discount types may not be combined. Registrations that are mailed or dropped off must include the appropriate fee, based on the number of students and materials fees.

REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS

Students in classes that are cancelled by Cabrillo Extension will be offered a full refund or a credit to your Extension account, which will never expire and can be used on by any member of your household account on any future camp or class.

General Enrichment: We will gladly process your request for a refund if it is received at least five (5) business days prior to the beginning of the class. There is a 10% service fee, subject to a $5 minimum. We cannot accept requests for refunds if they are received fewer than five (5) business days prior to the class start date.

If you find at the last minute that you are unable to attend a class, you may send someone in your place by notifying the Extension office by email or phone, prior to class start, who will attend in your place. Please note that all students participating in an Extension class must be registered.

Motorcycle Safety Training: If you are unable to attend and wish to request a refund, you must notify us no later than 5 business days prior to the first class meeting. There is a $25 processing fee. There will be no refunds for requests received after 5pm on the Thursday prior to the first day of class.

If you are refused admittance to any class or range because you do not have the required documents, parent to sign waiver (for students under 18), protective gear, or were late, you will be dropped from the class, and your fee will not be refunded. For all Motorcycle Safety Training policies, please view the webpage.

Youth Camps and Classes: All cancellations are subject to a 10% service fee. A refund will be given only if the request is received by the Cabrillo Extension Staff at least 10 business days prior to the first day of camp. We request that parents or guardians speak directly with a Cabrillo Extension staff member in order to cancel a camp registration. No refunds will be issued after the above-stated deadline.

One time transfers are not subject to a service fee. If a student wishes to transfer from one camp to another the following requirements apply:

  • Only one transfer can be made.

  • Transfer must be requested no fewer than 10 days prior to the first day of the camp they were originally registered for, or the one they wish to transfer to, whichever comes first.

  • The camp they want to transfer to must have available space.

  • The student must meet the age requirements of the camp they wish to transfer to.

  • Students may not transfer their registration to another student.

Refunds will not be issued for days missed in a multiple-day camp or class, and make up days are not available.

Refunds made via check may take up to 30 days to be received by student, and this may vary based on postal delivery schedules.
