Instructor Opportunities
Teaching with Extension
Thank you for your interest in teaching with Cabrillo Extension. We are always looking for new ideas and classes to meet the needs of our community! If you are interested in teaching a specific class, and have professional and/or teaching experience in your field, we would be interested in reviewing your application and proposal for future consideration. The broad areas that we look at are content, instructor qualifications, and marketability.
Before submitting your instructor application and course proposal, please take a few minutes to review our current catalog, found on our homepage, to familiarize yourself with the general categories of classes we currently offer, what class schedules look like, and to get a sense of how your class could potentially be marketed through our catalog.
Have a few questions before submitting your application? Please reach out to Jill Gallo or Scott Johnson.
Deadlines to Submit Class Proposals:
Summer camps to be offered in SUMMER, 2026: January 10, 2026
Adult classes to be included in the SUMMER, 2026 catalog: January 24, 2026
Adult classes to be included in the FALL, 2026 catalog: April 24, 2026
New instructors, please use the links below to submit an Instructor Application and Class Proposal.
Returning instructors, please note that the above deadlines apply to all classes, even those that you have offered in the past. For classes you have offered in the past, and wish to offer again without any changes, please email Jill Gallo with your proposed dates by the deadlines noted above.
All changes, updates, or modifications to classes that have been offered in the past must be submitted via a new class proposal. Links are below.
Why are deadlines so far in advance of when the catalog is published?
There are an average of 300 classes in each catalog. Confirming all of the details for each class, and getting our catalog ready to publish, and our online registration system ready to accept registrations, takes a minute! We want to be sure we have the time to work with each instructor to get all of the details right, and publish the best information for students. So, get those proposals and dates confirmed early if possible, but by the deadlines at least.

Adult Enrichment
Want to teach with us? Cabrillo Extension instructors have access to classrooms and other teaching spaces at our Aptos or Watsonville campus to lead workshops. Extension instructors have the support of the Extension team to handle marketing, registration, customer service, and more, so you can focus on what you do best - sharing your expertise with the community.
